Education / professional development
In 1993, she graduated with a gold medal from Secondary School No. 182 in Yerevan.
In 1998, she graduated with honors from the Faculty of Law of Yerevan State University. In the same year, she entered postgraduate studies and completed them in 2001 at Yerevan State University.
In 2001, she defended her PhD thesis at Yerevan State University and was awarded the degree of Candidate of Legal Sciences.
From 2006 to 2010, she was a doctoral candidate at the Moscow University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation. In 2010, she defended her doctoral dissertation before the Academic Council of the same university and, by decision of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Russian Federation, was awarded the degree of Doctor of Legal Sciences.
Her Candidate of Legal Sciences diploma was certified by the Federal Service for Supervision in Education and Science of the Russian Federation, and her Doctor of Legal Sciences diploma was certified by the Higher Attestation Commission of the Republic of Armenia.
By decision of the Academic Council of the Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University dated February 17, 2017, she was awarded the academic title of Professor.

She was a member of the Scientific-Methodological Council of the RA General Prosecutor’s Office.
Since 1998, she has also been engaged in academic and teaching activities, lecturing at the Faculty of Law of Yerevan State University and at the Institute of Law of the Russian-Armenian University. She also taught at the “School of Prosecutors” SNCO.
She is a member of the Specialized Council in Law of the Higher Attestation Commission operating at Yerevan State University and a member of the Specialized Council in Law at the Russian-Armenian University. She is also a member of the Academic Council of the Institute of Law of the Russian-Armenian University.
On June 30, 2012, by Presidential Decree of the Republic of Armenia, she was appointed Judge of the Criminal Court of Appeal of the Republic of Armenia.
On September 22, 2016, she was appointed Judge of the Criminal Chamber of the Court of Cassation of the Republic of Armenia.
By decision of the Supreme Judicial Council dated July 12, 2018, and Presidential Decree dated July 20, 2018, she was appointed Chair of the Criminal Chamber of the Court of Cassation of the Republic of Armenia.
On February 9, 2021, she was elected Chairperson of the Court of Cassation of the Republic of Armenia by the National Assembly.

Awarded the Fridtjof Nansen Gold Memorial Medal (2007).

In 2012, for conscientious service in the prosecution authorities, she received a Letter of Commendation from the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia and was repeatedly commended by orders of the RA Prosecutor General.

Awarded the Mkhitar Gosh Medal by Presidential Decree of May 26, 2020, for her contribution to jurisprudence and the development of the judiciary.
