This year’s programme was dedicated to the topic “Procedural Law as a Unified System: Constitutional, Criminal, Administrative and Civil Adjudication.” During two intensive weeks in Armenia and Germany, students explored different branches of procedural law from a comparative perspective and examined the principles and mechanisms underlying constitutional, criminal, administrative and civil adjudication.

The programme combined academic discussions with practical exposure to legal institutions, allowing participants to deepen their understanding of procedural law and become acquainted with the functioning of judicial and public institutions in both Armenia and Germany.

The programme was organised by Bachelor’s students Anna Yeritsyan and Arina Hovsepyan, while Master’s students Aida Najaryan and Karlos Adamyan served as tutors of the project.

During the first week in Armenia, the participants visited the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia, the Court of Cassation of the Republic of Armenia, and the Administrative Court of Appeal of the Republic of Armenia. Lectures and professional discussions held during the visits provided students with an opportunity to learn directly from legal practitioners and to explore the practical dimensions of constitutional, civil, criminal and administrative proceedings.

The second week of the programme took place in Berlin. Students visited the German Bundestag, where they learned about the structure and functioning of the German Parliament and its role within Germany’s constitutional system. The academic programme also included meetings and lectures with members of the Armenian-German Lawyers Association, providing an opportunity to discuss legal practice and procedural law from a comparative Armenian-German perspective.

The summer exchange programme provided students with a valuable opportunity to combine academic study with practical legal experience in an international environment.

Through lectures, institutional visits, professional discussions and interactive activities, participants strengthened their analytical and legal reasoning skills while developing a broader understanding of procedural law and different legal systems. The programme also continued the productive academic cooperation between the Russian-Armenian University and Humboldt University of Berlin within the Network East-West project.
